Who We Are

LawyerAI (lawyerai.directory) is an independent directory of Legal AI tools. We publish editorial reviews and do not provide legal advice.

Service Regions and Privacy Contact

LawyerAI actively serves users in the United States, including California, the European Union, the United Kingdom, and Canada. Privacy inquiries and requests are handled at editor@lawyerai.directory.

Age Requirement and Children

LawyerAI is intended only for people who are at least 18 years old. It is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a person under 18 has provided personal information, contact us so we can review and delete it.

Information We Collect

  • Account and authentication data: if you create an account, we process your name, email address, password hash or authentication-provider identifiers, email verification status, and temporary verification or password-reset tokens. We may also store a payment-customer identifier if you purchase a service.
  • Newsletter signup: email address only (delivered via Resend)
  • Usage data: with analytics consent, Google Analytics 4 and Microsoft Clarity may process page views, browser and device signals, clicks, scrolling, and other site interaction events.
  • Advertising data: with advertising consent where required, Google AdSense and its partners may process your IP address, browser and device information, pages visited, and ad interactions.
  • Product-interest and demo requests: when a form is offered and you choose to submit it, we collect your name, work email, optional phone number, organization, firm size, role, practice area, jurisdiction, purchase timeline, and the product need you describe.
  • Request security data: we process a pseudonymous network identifier to rate-limit abuse and detect duplicate form submissions.
  • No account registration is required to browse the directory.

How We Use Information

  • Accounts: to register and authenticate users, secure accounts, support submissions and purchases, and respond to account-related requests.
  • Newsletter: to send LawyerAI updates (you can unsubscribe anytime)
  • Analytics: to understand content usage, diagnose site experience issues, and improve LawyerAI pages.
  • Advertising: to display, personalize where permitted, measure, and improve advertisements.
  • Product requests: to evaluate and respond to your interest, assess whether a request is relevant, prevent abuse, and, only with separate consent, share a request with the named software vendor.

Legal Bases for EU and UK Processing

Where EU or UK data protection law applies, LawyerAI relies on consent for optional analytics, advertising, newsletters, and any sharing of a product request with a named vendor. We may rely on legitimate interests, where permitted and appropriately balanced, to secure and operate the site, prevent abuse, and understand basic service reliability. We may also process information as needed to take steps you request before a transaction, perform a contract, or meet a legal obligation. You may withdraw consent at any time without affecting processing that occurred before withdrawal.

Third-Party Services

  • Sanity (content and, when lead capture is enabled, a separate private request dataset) — sanity.io/privacy
  • Resend (email) — resend.com/privacy
  • Vercel (hosting + analytics) — vercel.com/legal/privacy-policy
  • Google Analytics 4 (traffic and interaction measurement) — policies.google.com/privacy
  • Google AdSense (advertising and ad measurement) — policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites
  • Microsoft Clarity (behavioral analytics and session replay) — privacy.microsoft.com/privacystatement
  • Stripe (payment processing, coming soon) — stripe.com/privacy

Product Requests and Vendor Sharing

A “Register Interest” form sends information to LawyerAI and does not authorize sharing with an unnamed vendor. If a page offers “Request Demo,” the form identifies the intended vendor and asks for separate consent before LawyerAI may share the request. Submitting a form does not guarantee that LawyerAI or a vendor will contact you, provide a demo, offer a price, or accept your request.

Product-request details are not sent to Google Analytics or Microsoft Clarity. Those services may receive non-identifying events such as the Item ID, page type, and whether a form was completed, subject to your analytics consent.

Cookies

Google Analytics 4 and Microsoft Clarity load only after analytics consent. When advertising is enabled, Google advertising cookies and similar technologies are controlled by your advertising consent where required. See our Cookie Policy to review or change your preferences.

Advertising and Third-Party Cookies

Google AdSense is currently disabled. If it is enabled, advertising code will load only after you explicitly allow advertising. Third-party vendors, including Google, may then use cookies, web beacons, and similar technologies to personalize ads and measure ad performance. These parties may process your IP address, browser type, pages visited, and ad interactions.

You may disable the advertising category at any time through our Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information control. You can also manage personalized advertising through Google Ads Settings and AboutAds. Learn more about how Google uses data on partner sites.

Before personalized AdSense advertising is enabled for visitors in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, LawyerAI will configure a Google-certified consent management platform. AdSense will remain disabled until that setup and a valid publisher ID are available.

Regional Privacy Rights

Depending on where you live and which law applies, you may have rights to be informed or know about processing; access personal information; correct inaccurate information; request deletion or erasure; restrict or object to certain processing; receive portable data; opt out of certain advertising-related sale or sharing; limit certain uses of sensitive personal information; and receive equal service when exercising a privacy right. These rights may be subject to legal exceptions and applicability thresholds.

Requests may be sent to editor@lawyerai.directory . A designated person monitors this mailbox. We use 30 days as our internal response target, unless applicable law requires a different period. We normally verify a request through the original email address associated with the relevant information and may request additional information only when reasonably necessary. We retain a request-handling record for 90 days after the request is closed. Applicable official guidance is available from the European Union, the UK Information Commissioner, the California Privacy Protection Agency, and the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.

Data Retention

  • Account records: kept while the account remains active and then deleted or retained only as needed for security, disputes, or applicable obligations. Temporary verification and password-reset tokens expire after one hour and are replaced or deleted when the workflow completes.
  • Newsletter email: kept until you unsubscribe
  • Contact correspondence and associated email addresses: ordinarily kept for 90 days.
  • Order and payment records controlled by LawyerAI: ordinarily kept for 90 days, unless a longer period is required to meet tax, accounting, fraud-prevention, dispute, or other legal obligations. Payment providers may retain their own records under their policies.
  • Privacy request-handling records: kept for 90 days after the request is closed.
  • Product-interest and demo requests, if this feature is enabled: kept for 90 days after the request is closed, unless a longer period is needed to resolve a dispute or meet an applicable obligation.
  • Pseudonymous anti-abuse identifiers: kept only as needed to enforce request limits and duplicate controls.
  • Analytics data: retained according to the configured Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity account settings and provider policies.
